However, very few people actually know about one crucial role played by a special person behind Sukanto Tanoto.
This person is none other than his wife, Tinah Bingei. Tinah Bingei has been fighting alongside Sukanto Tanoto in this journey and she is also one of the main shareholders in RGE.
Also, this elegant and passionate woman is also the co-founder and board of Trustee of Tanoto Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the society set up by the family. Tanoto Foundation was established in 1981, with a focus in the area of Education, Enhancement and Empowerment of the local community.
Tanoto Foundation is very influential in Indonesia, especially in the education area whereby numerous scholarships and financial aids have been given out to students who possess great potential but lack of the financial ability to pursue education. Besides this, the Foundation also specialized in teachers training programme in order to ensure that the students get quality education by certified teachers. Tinah Bingei Tanoto has a strong conviction and vision in building the lives of many Indonesians through education. She believes that education is one of the main factors in poverty elimination and empowerment of the people. Tinah Bingei is also actively involved in building medical facilities in the local communities, reaching out to the people who needs them the most. Despite doing this for the past decades, Tinah Bingei still possesses the same amount of energy and enthusiasm to help the needy as how she started out years ago.
