Sukanto Tanoto has always preached the importance of making sure the community benefits together with the businesses. The 5Cs principle, now ubiquitous across his businesses, encapsulates this philosophy. It is a principle that promises to create good for the Community, Country, Climate, Customer, and Company.
A belief in doing good, all day, everyday
The principle is something Sukanto Tanoto takes seriously, and is widely practiced within all his companies. RGE, of which he is chairman and founder, manages various business groups such as APRIL, Sateri, and Pacific Oil and Gas; all these companies have accordingly imbibed the ideology Sukanto Tanoto espouses.
Doing good is something Sukanto Tanoto believes should be done all-year round. In fact, he firmly believes that his companies must do good every time, all the time. During the festive season however, the billionaire entrepreneur believes in doing even more good. Recently, Asian Agri completed its CSR objectives before Ramadan, spreading some joy and happiness across the village of Batu Anam.
Asian Agri continues the strong relationship with the community
Asian Agri is one of Indonesia’s largest palm oil players. Impressively, it has had a long history of working and benefitting together with the community. Both parties co-exist in a perfect symbiosis, and both parties acknowledge the good they have created with each other. Most recently, Sukanto Tanoto’s Asian Agri completed the building of a house, the renovation of a mosque, and the provision of assistance for goat cultivation for the village of Batu Anam as part of its CSR programme. Done through its Indonesian subsidiaries PT Gunung Melayu and PT Saudara S Luhur, the assistance is timely – right while the village observes Ramadan.
On hand to hand over the completed projects to the village was Head of CSR and Sustainability Operations for Asian Agri, Welly Pardede, Group Manager for PT GM and PT SSL, OWM Limbong, and CSR North Sumatra Fajar Suryono.
